For Danielle, who helped produce the album, that began with the drums.

"The drum sound is such a detailed thing, and I focus so intensely about it," she states.

"'Journey of the drum sound' will be the subject of our book," quips Alana. "I've said it, our albums cannot begin until we find the ideal drum sound."

Stories and Collective Humor

The trio's candor shaped the album's rollout, where the sisters shared some of their dating horror stories.

A former partner broke up with Este over a medical concern. Alana recalled a story of travelling to celebrate New Year's Eve with someone, only to receive a friendly slap at midnight.

"When you're going through these setbacks, you just feel like there's only darkness," notes Alana. "So to be able to share those stories and have them tell you even crazier stories, it's so amazing."

An Assured Legacy

One can easily sense a change in the band. Today, Haim are more confident of their position in the music world.

They're major draws, with successful albums and an international fan base.

However the sister act will consistently be their top commitment.

"We have been making music since I was a young child," shares Alana. "It's like no other path that we were destined for. And I'm really thankful we've reached this point and we're still going strong."
