Nearly twenty-five thousand residences in Queensland's southeast woke up without power on Monday's dawn after intense storm systems impacted the region, producing wind gusts reaching 109km/h.

Massive Hailstones and Widespread Impact

Residents reported large ice chunks as large as 7 centimeters in certain regions. Meteorological experts verified that different parts across the state had been affected by large hailstones.

Emergency crews were attempting to repair energy supply throughout the impacted areas, with approximately seventy teams deployed to manage the extensive power failures.

Simultaneously, nearly 1,000 residents in Victoria also encountered energy failures after the capital city saw its wettest day in a year and a half.

Rescue organizations received over five hundred requests for assistance across the area, mostly for building damage but also for downed trees and flooding.

During the peak on Sunday, over 28,000 power users in the state were lacking electricity.

Damp conditions were expected to linger along significant areas of eastern Queensland this coming days as a weather pattern continued to attract humidity against the coastal areas.

Tomorrow was forecast to be the heaviest precipitation period, with persistent thunderstorm potential anticipated across multiple regions of both areas.

Health officials cautioned that there was an greater possibility of weather-related respiratory issues across the northern rural areas, particularly given the existing atmospheric conditions.
