Nineteen of the Russian's 21 championships have been earned on hardcourt

A comeback Medvedev secured his maiden championship for nearly 30 months with a win over Frenchman Moutet in the Almaty Open title decider.

The athlete, a former world number one, has endured a difficult period, managing just one match at the Grand Slams and undergoing a meltdown at the New York tournament.

The player's unpredictability on the ATP Tour - and difficulties with his serve in specific - led to him exiting of the top ten and eventually splitting with long-term trainer Gilles Cervara.

Currently working with Thomas Johansson and Rohan Goetzke, he has consistently progressed in the last few weeks - peaking in a closely contested three-set win over challenger Moutet.

This marks the player's initial championship after the Italian tournament and initial on a hardcourt since that period of that year.

Success also indicates Medvedev has achieved 21 titles at twenty-one various tournaments.

"It's the first time I am participating in a event with my children at once, so to get a championship is particularly special," said world number 14 Daniil Medvedev.

"This championship is in tribute of my second daughter my daughter, because the first title I achieved when my child Alisa was born was for her."

The athlete, the 2021 US Open champion, had been defeated in his previous six championship matches, featuring in Halle in the past months.

The player's defensive approach and frequent outbursts on court had prompted observers to question if his skill to compete at the elite level was concluded.

Yet the athlete has made changes in recent weeks, attempting to come to the net and perform assertively, backed up by an improved service.

He fought back from a deficit in the initial set against the difficult Moutet, securing 4 of the final five exchanges to gain the advantage.

The pair traded service breaks in the second set before the Frenchman, attempting for his maiden professional championship, seized the initiative to force a third set.

He saved 4 early break points in a tight third set before Medvedev broke to fifteen to serve for the match.

Suitably, the winner earned the win with a rally at the net area, with the Frenchman incapable to control a shot after a lengthy match.
